Edmund Rolls is currently a Distinguished Professor at The Institute of Science and Technology for Brain-inspired Intelligence. He has been Professor of experimental psychology at Oxford University and Professor and tutor of psychology at Corpus Christi College of Oxford University. His research interest is computational neuroscience, including the functioning of real neural networks involving vision, memory, attention and decision-making within the brain; Functional neuroimaging of vision, taste, smell, ingestion, appetite control, memory and mood; Neuroaffective disorder; Mental illnesses, including schizophrenia; The underlying consciousness of brain processes. These studies, which include surveys of patients, aim to help people understand the state of the human brain in terms of health and disease, and to treat related diseases. Professor Rolls has published 13 books on neuroscience and more than 590 research papers, with more than 80,000 Google academic citations.
